Ray Comfort from The Way of the Master interviews a girl who isn’t sure of her belief in God, isn’t sure about an afterlife, thinks there’s no pain after death, but claims to have been born again many times. John 3:1-21 is where Jesus describes to Nicodemus what it means to be born again. It’s something that happens when we’re sealed with the Holy Spirit for the day of judgment(John 3:6; Eph. 1:13). It can be confusing for someone who hasn’t been born again, but this is the best way I can explain it. When you’re born again, you realize that the old version of yourself is done, and from that point forward, you live with the desire to please God and cultivate a relationship with Him. That doesn’t mean you’ll be done with all sinful desires or that you’ll always live to please God, but God will give you new desires that come from being adopted into His family.
