A question is asked by someone at the University of Illinois, “Why should we believe the Bible and God over any other religious book, and why should a person give their entire life to Christ?“ (my paraphrase) Ravi lays out the evidences you might expect to hear, such as the number of bible writers over a 1500 year time span without contradiction, but he also gives some great insight about fulfilled prophecy relating to the transition of power from Alexander the Great and the Greeks to the Romans, from the book of Daniel. Very cool!
If you’re not familiar with Ravi Zacharias, he’s the apologetics, reasoning, and intellect side of the coin, while Ray Comfort (The Way of the Master) prefers being the side of the coin that deals with the conscience. Certainly, both have their place, but combine the two and you’ve got yourself one pretty suite evangelist! (Suite in ability, not in looks! All in fun, Ray and Ravi.)
Check out Ravi’s organization at RZIM.org. You can even find a link on the home page to a training workshop on April 3rd, 2009. Sorry for the short notice. The location is India (for our overseas viewers); more specifically, Gangtok, Sikkim. (If I find out that’s actually a person’s name, I’m going to be really embarrassed. Just kidding, I Googled it.)
